Of Horn and Ivory is a depository for my writings: essays on Pagan and Kemetic spirituality, occultism, otherkin, and psychology, along with poetry and fiction.
Call me Meirya. I am queer, polyamorous, living in Colorado; a writer, a roleplayer, a gamer, gender-neutral, an INTP; a chaos magician with a Golden Dawn focus, a Kemetic (Egyptian) Pagan, a child of Wepwawet-Yinepu, a beloved of Bast-Mut; and on and on. I have my M.A. in counseling psychology and am working towards licensure as a therapist. All these things show up in my writing, in small and large ways.
My motto and personal ideal is “burn bright”. This means living with passion and intensity, continually transforming myself in an ongoing journey of self-discovery and self-growth. It means living with poetry, with myth and wonder, seeking the beauty in all things.
I think a lot about how people work–what makes them tick, what drives people, why they do what they do. What makes me tick, why I do what I do, how I can tweak my behavior and myself to become a healthier, more complete individual. Personal identity, gender, sexuality. Reality, and archetypes, and perception. Social interactions, friendships, relationships, relationship styles, what makes relationships work or not work.
